Writing and English will be given on Tuesday, April 28.
Reading will be administered on Wednesday, April 29.
Mathematics will be given on Thursday April 30.
Science will be administered on Tuesday, May 5.
It is important to remember that this is a timed test! To find out how many questions will be given and the time students have to complete each section, please visit the home page of the S.C. Department of Education and click the ACT button. Youíll also find FREE test questions and resources!
The biggest change that our students will notice is that each Aspire†sub-test†has a time limit.† Students will be†tested for approximately one hour per day, and the writing test must be completed in 30 minutes.† Some students may not finish before they must stop working and turn in their tests.
Our students are more familiar with the SCPASS tests, which have no specific time limits.† Teachers are currently providing practice for students so that they will become more comfortable with the timed tests.††† The two different science tests will allow us to assess our studentsí knowledge of the South Carolina science standards while still being able to compare our studentsí achievement with their peers nationally. †

To create a parent account, you will need the student id# for each student and birth date.†
The birth date should be keyed in with †no leading zero or dashes.
The NAMS School Improvement Council (SIC) meets once a month on the following dates.
DHEC will be holding a clinic at NAMS on May 13, 2015.
This clinic will be held for those 6th grade students needing the Tdap vaccine REQUIRED for 7th grade. Permission forms will be sent home to the parent/guardian on April 20th.
These forms MUST be returned to the school nurse within 5 days.
If your student has already received the Tdap vaccine, after the age of 7, please furnish that information to the school nurse as soon as possible.

Where: Report to the gym right after school. You should already be dressed (use the locker room), used the restroom, had your snack, filled your water bottle, etc. Come ready and do not be late!
What (do I need to bring): Gym clothes, sneakers, knee pads if you have them, water bottle, copy of current physical (it must be April 1st 2015 or after)*
*They are offering sports physicals at NAHS Thursday April 23rd beginning at 3:30. The cost is $10. This is a great way to have your physical taken care of before tryouts.
What (do I need to know): We will work on basic volleyball skills such as passing, hitting, and serving. Do not be intimidated if you have never played! Many girls have never played before.
